At last: A helping hand in the Internet jungle!

JungleIn the Internet jungle, success breeds success. A website which is favoured by the search engines will attract more traffic, which will make it more popular, which will make it even more favoured by the search engines.

But for every high-riser, there are thousands of smaller websites struggling to get started. There are billions of websites out there, all reaching up for their own little piece of light and air. The lucky ones get noticed by the search engines, and with the extra traffic they generate, they grow even stronger. And as for the rest: they lie around, un-noticed and un-regarded, on page 3, page 30, or even page 30,000.

Getting your website to show up in the search results is no walk in the park! It can take months to be listed at all - and then the hard work really starts! You've got to find just the right keywords, you've got to endlessly tune and fine-tune every page, and you've got to spend months monitoring every tiny movement. And yet; no sooner have you got it working right, the algorithm changes and you crash right back to square one.

Lizard Cuckoo. Photo: M OberleHow would it be if you didn't need to do any of that? How would it be if you could just hitch a ride on the backs of the most successful sites on the web? How would it be if you could put a link to your page right there on their websites? How would it be if your own competitors drove their visitors to you? How would that be?

That would be "CucuMe"!

CucuMe is a revolution in web-indexing technology. Now, you don't have to fight your way up the search-engine rankings for your own piece of light and air. Now you can sit on top of the web's most visible websites. Now, your own competitors will support you, sharing their success with you, and giving you instant exposure which would take you years to achieve on your own.

Stand outside their shop - 24/7!

Imagine, if you will, going to your competition's main shop, and stopping their customers as they walked through the door. What would you say to them? "I can do that cheaper"? "They're not telling you the truth"? "You'd be better off if you.."? Well, what would you say?

That's exactly what CucuMe allows you to do. Every time somebody looks at your competitor's website, CucuMe can show them a link to your website. Every time somebody reads your competitor's message, you can tap them on the shoulder and say "Excuse me, but..." Every time your competitor gets a hit, so can you.

So, now you can have all this traffic, what would you like to say?

Competition:

If ElectroTailer.com sells the latest plasma TV for £1500,

you can tell their wealthy customers that you can do the same TV for £1200.

Contradiction:

If GreasyBurgers has a website explaining how balanced a meal their burger-n-fries combo is,

you can tell their cholesterol-soaked visitors how many lab rats have died from eating it.

Co-promotion:

If Hollywood's latest heart-throb, Nick Volante, has a fan-site

you can tell his adoring fans that you distribute his entire back-catalogue.

Co-location:

If the SupaGroup concert has already sold out the stadium

you can tell all the disappointed groupies about your tribute band's shows at the pub next door.

Co-operation:

If you're building a Web 2.0 site, and you want a little more than just another forum

you can create a clipbook website to which anyone can contribute

How does it work?

It's all done with Cuckoo's Eggs, or Cucu's. A Cucu is a link to your webpage which you want to put on somebody else's website. Since you can't put your link directly onto the other site, you put it onto our servers instead. The CucuMe servers maintain a comprehensive index of every Cucu - what each one is, and where each one should appear.

Meanwhile, users install the special CucuMe browser add-on. Whenever they look at a website, the add-on asks CucuMe if there are any Cucu's for that site. If so, they appear on the screen. Simple!
