CucuMe is keen to work with external developers, to develop a whole range of software:
CucuMe works best when it is integrated with a browser or media player. We need people to write add-ons for all the popular browsers and media players. Right now, we desperately need clients for the following:
If you have experience of writing add-ons for any of these, please contact us urgently. Additionally, if you have a favorite platform that's not listed here, and you'd like to write an add-on, then please let us know.
You will find comprehensive design and guidance notes for client developers here.
All our software is designed to operate in multiple languages. It does so using components called "Language packs". We need to create those language packs, and we need to maintain them as the system evolves.
Right now, we are very interested in translations into
We're interested not just in the major languages, but in the regional variations as well. So, if you are fluent in English and at least one other language (no matter how obsucre!) and you'd like to take charge of a language pack, we'd like to hear from you.
We will upload comprehensive guidance notes for language-pack develeopers soon.
We like to have fun with our image. More to the point, we'd like you to have fun with it too! So, if you'd like to design us some eggs, we'll put them on our site. You can create your eggs in any medium you like: drawings, sculpture, computer graphics or animations: whatever you want!
Each month, we'll select the "hottest" eggs, and single them out for special mention.
We will upload comprehensive guidance notes for graphic designers soon.
To become part of our developer programme, you will need to register. Once registered, you'll have access to the full range of technical information and support.
We have a deeply-held belief that good work deserves credit. Anything which you send us, and which we use, will be credited at the point of access. That is, if someone installs a client, they will see your name, email address, or website on the very first page (and any time subsequently that they ask for it). Similarly, if someone downloads a language pack, they will know that you made it. Thus, developing for us represents a great advertising opportunity for you.
The only exception to this is where we commission a piece of work, and then pay you for it. In this case, you've been paid and the software is ours.
Our most complex and interesting code runs on our servers. For a whole range of obvious reasons, that code will not be made public outside our organisation.
But we still need to develop it! We are looking for the best, smartest, most talented and most creative engineers in the world. We want technical gurus, we want demon coders, and we want big-thinking architects. Away from the coal face, we need the cleverest network people, the wildest innovators, and the most miraculous project managers.
So, if you think you're tough enough to be part of the CucuMe phenomenon, contact us and tell us what you can do for us. In return., we'll show you what life is like one of the most exciting technical environments in the world.
